clinicbeacneClinicbeAcne by Dr Barbara Kubicka

London-based skin treatment centre

Clinicbe is delighted to announce the launch of a new website and service dedicated to the needs of acne sufferers – www.clinicbeacne.com.

Acne is a problem which can severely affect the skin but also have a profound impact on the patient’s confidence too. Untreated, the legacy of acne can be long-term scarring. The principle of ClinicbeAcne is to treat acne as early and as efficiently as possible.

Patients 13+

Acne is often thought of as a teenage problem and affects a great many people during the teens when puberty and growth cause a series of hormonal changes which affect the skin.

Dr Barbara Kubicka has a personal passion for helping young patients to improve their skin, boosting their confidence as well as avoiding longer term skin damage.

Unlike many specialist skin clinics, ClinicbeAcne is registered to take patients from the age of 13.

Adult Acne

However, acne is certainly not isolated to the teenage years. For some patients, it can continue well into adulthood, never really stopping. For other patients, it may clear for a while and then recur later on in response to other hormonal changes (e.g. pregnancy, menopause), stress or other factors.  There are patients who manage to escape teenage acne only to suffer their first outbreak as an adult.

For adults, it is especially important to understand any underlying causes, as this will heavily influence the type of acne and therefore the treatment programme.

Types of Acne

ClinicbeAcne recognise that there are a number of different types of acne and therefore offers a range of treatment programmes which can be adapted according to the type of acne as well as the patient’s age, skin type and any other relevant factors.

  • Mild acne – a few lesions that are not deep or inflamed
  • Moderate acne – deeper nodular lesions and some redness
  • Severe acne – multiple lesions with cysts, and extensive inflammation/redness
  • Body acne – acne on the back, chest, shoulders, arms, torso or elsewhere

Acne-Related Problems

ClinicbeAcne also offer treatment for acne-related problems, including pigmentation and scarring. When it comes to scarring, again the specialist team recognise that there are some very distinct types of scarring. A treatment suitable for depressed scars will be completely inappropriate for raised scarring – and there are further complexities within these categories too.

The specialised knowledge puts patients in safe hands.
