Firstly, exactly what does the word “Cosmeceutical” mean?

Cosmeceutical is a term coined by Dr Albert Kligman in 1980 in his presentation to the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

It refers to topical skin products that contain an “active ingredient” that usually claim benefits for skin improvement. These are designed to improve the appearance of skin particularly with regard to the visible signs of ageing which could include:
