IV infusion or “Intravenous Infusion” is a medical term which describes the delivery of medicines, vitamins, nutrients or other substances directly into the body through the veins where they can be rapidly absorbed and delivered through the venous system.
IVMT is a rapidly growing practice pioneered in the USA which has been adopted by a string of celebrities. It has also been referred to as ‘vitamin drips, as it involves the intravenous delivery of nutrients and vitamins to boost a patient’s health and wellbeing.
The reported benefits of IVMT are wide and varied from general health to improvements in appearance. IV and intramuscular treatments are designed to combat common problems such as:
Fans of the procedure report that they feel boosted and energised a couple of hours after treatment as the rehydration and nutrients kick in.
IVMT was pioneered by Dr John Myers, who gave intravenous infusions containing vitamins and nutrients to his patients. After his death, Dr Alan Gaby continued and expanded the treatment with an adapted version of the ‘Myers’ Cocktail’, a formulation said to contain vitamins B6 , B12, C and B complex, magnesium chloride, calcium gluconate, thiamine, calcium panthothenate and diluted hydrochloric acid.
IV Infusions are available at Dr Barbara Kubicka’s Clinicbe in the Knightsbridge area of London.
IV infusions consisting of vitamins, microelements and amino acids can be individually adjusted to suit each patient’s requirements, based on assessment of their medical history and general health as well as an understanding of what they are hoping to achieve through treatment.
There is also a specific IV infusion cocktail designed to increase fat burning for those who want to speed up the process of weight loss.
