Collagen Injections

Anti-ageing skin treatment

Collagen injections are a type of cosmetic procedure that involves injecting collagen, a protein naturally found in your skin, directly into the dermis to add natural-looking fullness.

They can be used to tackle many of the common signs of ageing:

  • Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, promoting smoother skin. Particularly effective around the mouth and eyes
  • Improve the skin’s elasticity and texture
  • Add volume to specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks or temples, to create a more balanced and youthful appearance
  • Create plumper, fuller lips
  • Improve the appearance of scars, including acne scarring

Collagen injections can be sued to bio-revitalise the skin on the face, neck, cleavage or hands, body

How it works

Collagen injections work by replenishing the skin’s natural collagen. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, which can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. By injecting collagen into the dermis, the middle layer of skin, collagen injections can help to plump up the skin and smooth out wrinkles.

As we age we lose volume in our face, under our eyes, in our cheeks and around our mouths. This is due to loss of collagen and elastin.

Advantages of collagen injections

  • Natural Collagen Boost:
Unlike fillers that simply add volume, some collagen injections aim to stimulate your own body’s collagen production. This can lead to a more natural-looking improvement in skin texture and elasticity over time.
  • Potentially Fewer Repeat Treatments:
There’s some suggestion that collagen injections, by stimulating your own production, might require fewer repeat treatments compared to fillers that simply add volume, though research is ongoing.

Linerase collagen injections

Clinicbe uses Linerase collagen, which is safe, free from allergenic telopeptides, and intended for aesthetic procedures. Due to its unique bioactivity, it increases the number of fibroblasts in the skin that are responsible for the production of its own type 3 collagen.

Linerase is a new generation, purified type I collagen for intradermal administration, it is registered as a medical product and has no side effects or cause allergic reactions.

What type of collagen is used?

Clinicbe uses LINERASE collagen injections; a long lasting, clinically-proven, non-invasive injectable treatment that is designed to smooth out and soften lines and wrinkle, nourish, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin, stimulate collagen and elastin production and and contour the face in a natural way.

Linerase collagen is safe, free from allergenic telopeptides, and intended for aesthetic procedures. Due to its unique bioactivity, it increases the number of fibroblasts in the skin that are responsible for the production of its own type 3 collagen.

What is involved in Linerase collagen injections treatment?

Before the procedure, local anaesthetic cream can be applied if required.

Linerase collagen injections are in liquid form and are administered with a tiny, very thin and very short mesotherapy needle. We apply small doses of the product 1-3 cm apart.

After Linerase treatment, the client’s skin is gently massaged.

How much do collagen injections cost?

Collagen injections are an affordable choice for patients looking for a natural way to rejuvenate the skin without resorting to major surgery. See our biorejuvenation treatment prices page for the latest costs.

When will I see results?

The full effects of the treatment (improvement of skin thickness and density, lines and wrinkles) is visible around 4 weeks after the final treatment.

The very first results will be visible as soon as a week later:

  • Skin becomes firmer,
  • Illuminated and glowing
  • Irritation and redness started to calm down

The full effect of the treatment will be:

  • Improved lift
  • Volume
  • Thin skin becomes denser
  • Fine wrinkles and skin defects/scars etc. become shallow and less visible

That is usually achieved within 4 weeks from the end of the course.

How long will the results last for?

Results generally last up to 12 months, depending on patient's skin condition. After that time, when results start to fade, we advise quarterly treatments to maintain results.

Are there any side-effects?

  • The most common side effects of collagen injections are bruising, swelling, redness or tenderness at the injection site. These do not require any medical intervention and disappear within a few days.
  • Clients with very thin skin may experience swelling for longer 3-7 days.
  • Small risk of allergic reaction.
  • Rarer potential side effects include infection, granuloma formation (small bumps under the skin), and uneven results.
  • The treatment is minimally invasive and does not require any time off work.

How often should I have treatment?

Collagen injections are delivered in a series of four treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. The frequency of treatment may be adapted depending on the patient and treatment.

Can I have collagen injections as a preventative treatment?

Yes, collagen injections can be an excellent choice as a preventative treatment. We would recommend a treatment every 3-6 months, although this may be adjusted according to the individual patient's requirements.
