Radio Frequency & Microneedling

RF microneedling provides the power of two treatments in one for better, faster results.

What is Radio Frequency Microneedling?

Microneedling uses a fine needle to create microwounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the production of capillaries, elastin, and collagen.

The needle releases radio frequency (RF) into the channels, causing additional damage. This RF energy is delivered deeply into the skin layers for maximum impact.

Microneedling with radio frequency is a minimally invasive, non-surgical skin rejuvenation technique that can treat a variety of skin concerns, such as uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, and poor facial skin laxity. It is an amazing treatment during the menopause as when used with skin boosters it offers instant hydration.

How Does Radio Frequency Microneedling Work?

During the procedure, a tiny gold plated multi-needle device gently penetrates the skin and delivers radio frequency deep into the dermal layers of the skin. The radio frequency heats at depths that provide cumulative and ongoing benefits of collagen stimulation, skin tightening and resurfacing. When the radio frequency energy heats the underlying layers of skin, the skin is caused to constrict and tighten, as well as stimulate collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster results that are more dramatic, with little to no downtime.

At Clinicbe, our Radio Frequency Microneedling treatment includes LED therapy; which creates better, longer-lasting results as well as reducing the downtime.

Radio Frequency & Microneedling Treatments

This powerful combination treatment is ideal for both the face and body and has a number of potential applications:

  • Fine lines, wrinkles
The heat from the radio frequency can stimulate collagen production, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling can also help to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
  • Stretch marks
The combination of radio frequency and microneedling can help to improve the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity.
  • Appearance of large pores
Microneedling can help to reduce the appearance of large pores by stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture.
  • Acne scars:
Radio frequency can help to reduce inflammation and scarring, while microneedling can help to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.
  • Scars from injury or surgery:
The combination of radio frequency and microneedling can help to improve the appearance of scars by stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture.
  • Hyperpigmentation:
Radio frequency can help to reduce inflammation and improve skin tone, while microneedling can help to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.
  • Loose, sagging skin:
The heat from the radio frequency can cause collagen fibres to contract, which can help to tighten and lift sagging skin. Microneedling can also help to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity.
  • Cellulite:
The combination of radio frequency and microneedling can help to improve the appearance of cellulite by stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity.
  • Hyperhidrosis:
Radio frequency can help to reduce sweat production by acting on the sweat glands.

Benefits of Radio Frequency & Microneedling

Combining radio frequency (RF) and microneedling offers a powerful approach to skin rejuvenation. This synergistic treatment provides several benefits, including:

  • Enhanced collagen production:
Both RF and microneedling stimulate the production of collagen, a protein essential for skin elasticity and firmness. When combined, they can significantly improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved skin tightening:
RF heats the deeper layers of the skin, causing collagen fibers to contract. Microneedling creates micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production. Together, they can effectively tighten and lift sagging skin.
  • Reduced pore size:
Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores by stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture.
  • Improved skin tone:
The combination treatment can help even out skin tone by reducing hyperpigmentation and improving overall skin clarity.
  • Treatment of acne scars:
Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture. RF can also help to reduce inflammation and scarring.
  • Minimal downtime:
Compared to more invasive procedures, RF and microneedling typically have minimal downtime. Most patients can resume their normal activities within a few days.

Radio Frequency & Microneedling Treatment FAQ

How is the treatment adapted for different requirements?

Radio frequency & microneedling is highly adaptable, e.g.:

  • Different needles for darker skin-tones
  • Different settings/depths (e.g. for skin, double chin, hair) so there's no risk of fat burning in the areas that are not required

Does radio frequency & microneedling hurt?

Some very mild pain and/or discomfort can be experienced during your treatments, but most clients hardly feel anything. Lots of people say that the cheeks are where there is the least discomfort, but bony areas of the face such as the forehead are a little more uncomfortable. Any discomfort can be managed very well by the thorough application of anaesthetic cream at least 30 minutes prior to your procedure.

Are there any side-effects with RF & microneedling?

Immediately after the procedure, your face may feel like it’s caught the sun. This redness and may be accompanied by some swelling. However, this is a temporary reaction to the treatment and is rarely uncomfortable.

How long does this treatment take?

The full treatment time is normally around 90 minutes. This includes LED therapy.

How many sessions will I need?

Although one session can often create immediately visible results, 3 sessions are recommended for optimum results.

How often should I have treatment?

Your initial course of 3 treatments should be carried out 6 weeks apart.

Thereafter, we recommend a single maintenance session every 3-6 months to extend the benefit of treatment.

When will I see the results of RF & Microneedling treatment?

Visible changes to the skin are seen in the week following your RF microneedling treatment, but because the skin repairs itself slowly, you may continue to see improvement in your skin for up to six months after your Radio Frequency microneedling session!

How long do the effects of radio frequency & microneedling treatment last?

As the skin repairs itself slowly, the results can last for a really long time.

How much does radio frequency & microneedling cost?

The cost of radio frequency with microneedling can vary depending on the treatment area, the number of sessions required, and the geographic location. Please enquire for more information.

Who carries out radio frequency & microneedling treatment?
