• Men require more botulinum toxin than women. So charging men a small supplement is no marketing ploy, it is dictated by the increase in product required. This is because the toxin does not last as long in male patients. It is metabolised and broken down faster, plus the differences in facial anatomy require more product.
• Compared to women, the male anatomy tends to have larger skulls and foreheads, higher density of blood vessels and greater muscle mass. Wrinkles tend to be deeper – craggy, rugged creases.  So even where a very subtle look is required, a higher dosage will be used in order to relax the fine dynamic muscle movement, creating a smoother skin surface.
• Injection techniques also vary in order to respect the facial masculinity and prevent the creation of a feminine-looking arched brow which is flattering in female patients but not in men. For males, a flatter brow position is maintained.
