Robbie Williams surprised fans on Friday by admitting to a hair transplant, despite not needing one yet.

He appeared on the Graham Norton show and was explaining how life in Los Angeles made cosmetic surgery feel normal. He explained:

They say, ‘If you sit in a barber’s shop for long enough you will get a haircut.’  Well, if you live in Los Angeles for long enough you’re going to get some surgery.

I’ve had a thatch done and I didn’t even need it. That’s the weirdest thing.

At 39, Robbie appears to have a full head of hair yet while he certainly showed no signs of Male Pattern Baldness, he has been seen with a slightly receding hairline. As he explained, this was the area treated.

Celebrity Hair Transplants

Celebrities having hair transplant surgery is not new. Stars who have confessed to having hair transplantation surgery include James Nesbitt, Rob Brydon, Jason Donovan, Jude Law and Wayne Rooney to name but a few. The list is quite extensive, especially taking into account the many who have not been so open about their surgery!

Yet there is no need to rush for the surgeon’s scalpel at the first sign of thinning locks. Surgery is a drastic step, usually costing thousands and requiring a lifetime of medication in order to avoid losing the transplanted hair.

Non-surgical treatments can offer patients help in retaining their hair, boosting growth by stimulating a healthy scalp.

They are ideal for those, potentially like Robbie, seeing the early signs of receding hairline or loss of hair density, a thinning which occurs when hair shedding is greater than regrowth.

Triple Synergy Hair System

Hair restoration no longer has to mean expensive transplantation. There are non-surgical hair treatment options that can help too.

  1. Vitamin injections: injected intramuscular, where they can be most readily absorbed to promote stronger hair and reduce hair loss
  2. Mesotherapy: special solutions injected directly into the skin on the scalp to deliver vital nutrients and minerals
  3. PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma: utilising the body’s own healing power with concentrated plasma
  4. Dermaroller micro-needling: to stimulate the scalp cell renewal and healing processes
