Thread veins, also known as spider veins are fairly small veins. They are most commonly found on the face or legs and are a blue or red colour. Although they don’t cause any particular symptoms or medical concern, for the patient affected, they can look unsightly and can affect self confidence.

As with so many other skin problems, thread veins are quite often an inherited condition, with hormones affecting the appearance of them.

What to Do About Thread Veins

Provided the appearance doesn’t bother you, you can choose to leave the veins be – they are not harmful. However, they are unlikely to get better without treatment, so if you find the appearance unattractive, with modern treatment methods, there’s no need to put up with the condition. Thread veins can be removed quite efficiently and effectively with micro sclerotherapy injections, or laser treatment, depending on where the vein is.

Dr Barbara Kubicka’s aesthetic medicine clinic, based in Knightsbridge, London, specialises in microsclerotherapy thread vein treatment using very fine needles for comfortable treatment, rapid healing and excellent results. They also have the latest IPL laser treatment available, ideal for treating spider veins of thread veins on the face.

Dr Barbara Kubicka prides herself on not only removing the unsightly look of thread veins, but also minimising the discomfort, too.
