When the clocks have gone back and the weather is getting warmer, we can see summer just around the corner. With the prospect of more time outdoors in the sun, warmer weather and even summer holidays closer, Clinicbe’s Dr Barbara Kubicka shares her top ‘sunny tricks’ for looking good in the sunshine.
How to Stop Squinting and Frowning in the Sunshine
With the brighter sunshine, a natural response is for the eyes to squint, instantly causing lines around the eyes and on the forehead. This isn’t only when you’re caught outside without sunglasses, but can also happen even when wearing eye protection.
Dr Barbara Kubicka MD explains:
It’s a problem that many patients do mention in the summer months, as they feel more aware of the lines and wrinkles that are developing and concerned about them getting worse with the continued involuntary facial movements caused by bright sunlight.
Anti-ageing injections are an excellent solution to this problem, as they work to relax the fine dynamic facial muscles which are involved in these movements.
The idea isn’t to stop the squinting movement itself, which is the body’s natural defence to protect the eyes. Rather the objective is to relax the associated movements which cause lines to appear around the eyes and forehead, which has the longer term benefit of impairing the repeated movements which can cause the lines to get worse.
Anti-wrinkle treatment sessions using BOTOX® (botulinum toxin) take around twenty minutes giving results lasting between 3-9 months. The price of this treatment starts at £275, depending on the extent of area being treated.
Dr Kubicka is particularly known for offering a very light and natural looking result. The clinic also offers ‘Baby Botox‘ and MesoBe, Dr Kubicka’s own unique approach to using a mesotherapy technique for administering botox with multiple tiny injections in order to spread the benefit over a wider area for a generalised softening, rather than troubleshooting the main lines and wrinkles.
Dr Kubicka takes a holistic approach to skincare treatments; treating the patient as a whole in order to get the best possible results from any treatments they may have.
Private consultations often include individual advice on nutrition, hydration and lifestyle as well as professional treatments. Advice on skin treatments is made after extensive discussion and review and suggestions are made from one of London’s best ranges of skin treatments.
