The interview with Dr Barbara Kubicka discusses some potentially sensitive issues around having cosmetic treatments such as BOTOX, dermal fillers, mesotherapy and laser.
The importance of the consultation and having a relationship of trust with the professional are paramount.
Dr Kubicka says:
“The most important thing is to stay who we are, and to do so we need to be able to choose between the things that are suitable for us… you shouldn’t do things because somebody else has had them done and it looks good; because it has to be something that is suitable for our face, for our condition, and that’s the reason why the consultation is so important.”
“Very often people do things because the procedure is good it will be good for them. It’s not always the case and that has to be discussed prior to treatment.”
The video emphasises the consultation, as well as the relationship between patient and practitioner, and the importance of trust.
Dr Kubicka continues to emphasis the importance of being able to have trust in the professional:
“I believe that the bigger part of responsibility is on the professional, rather than on the person, because obviously we are confused with the amount of information and with contradictory information as well and it’s very easy to be overwhelmed with all of it. But it’s up to the doctor (or nurse) to explain it and discuss the options.”
