Our patient Catherine has kindly shared her experience of having a PDO thread lift at Clinicbe® in this video review.
She explains her initial concerns, which led her to having treatment:
“I got to about 47 years of age and I decided that my jowls had started to drop. I was on my own, I didn’t want to be getting old disgracefully and jowly, so I googled a reputable place to come in London and I found Dr Barbara and haven’t looked back since she started to do the mesotherapy on my throat and I’ve recently had PDO thread, which I think are quite the most extraordinary thing – rather alarming how well they have worked. I couldn’t believe I’ve gone back 20 years to be honest with you, I feel I’m 20 years younger than I am. So PDO threads have worked very well for me.”

PDO Thread Lift
Catherine describes the procedure in detail. It was made comfortable with the application of Emla cream, a local anaesthetic which was applied about half an hour before treatment began. Catherine says:
“…I could feel my face becoming slightly numb, so when the work actually was undertaken I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever.”
She describes how she felt in the days following treatment:
“…after a few days any bruising that had appeared had disappeared, the swelling had pretty much gone by the end of the week and the pain relief was managed by paracetamol and ibuprofen which was fab, didn’t need anything else.”
Catherine comments on her impressions of the results treatment:
“I am really very thrilled with the miracle worker that is Dr Barbara. She has as I say taken the years off. My jowls although still here, I don’t look like any work’s been done to me, it is a very subtle improvement I think and the lift is great, I feel there is a lift, I feel so much better, I don’t cringe when I look in the mirror, so it has worked very well indeed.”

Catherine did not announce her procedure to friends and she explains the feedback she’s had from those who know her:
“The compliments have been flowing from friends. They have said that I’ve been looking well – nobody has said anything like ‘have you had treatment done Catherine’, so I haven’t had to actually lie.
“I don’t know how I’d have felt, I think I’d have been honest and said ‘yes of course I’ve had something done’ and where to go for it, because I would recommend here without any hesitation whatsoever; but no – just that I’m looking good – but not that I’ve had work done.
“So it’s a result.”
