Dermastamp

The Dermaroller name is synonymous with skin needling, which has become a very successful treatment option for rejuvenating the skin, acne scarring and multiple other indications.

Now the manufacturers have developed new technology with the Dermastamp, which is now available at Clinicbe in Knightsbridge, London.

DermaStamp

Dermastamp is a clinically proven system which works using a handheld stamping device to penetrate the skin in order to create vertical channels. This stimulates the skin’s healing responses, but also allows direct delivery of active ingredients e.g. hyaluronic acid and vitamins, according to the patients needs, to the deeper layers of the skin.

As the procedure involves no heat, injections or lasers; it is considered a very safe procedure which adopts a very natural approach to work in harmony with the body’s own processes.

As the dermastamp is flat it penetrates evenly through the skin, making the treatment safer and more effective.

Dermapen

A smaller device called the Dermapen can be used on more specific areas eg scarring, acne scarring, around the eyes and on specific lines. In some cases these devices can be considered to achieve the best results.

How Long does Treatment Take?

A full session of Dermastamp treatment usually takes around 30-60 minutes, although this does depend on the area treated.

What preparation is involved?

Firstly, the skin is cleaned and sterilised. Usually it is numbed using emla cream to ensure comfort. Pain killers are also available on request. The Dermapen device will glide over the skin creating stimulating channels. Then the appropriate preparation is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed and delivered i.e. hyaluronic acid, serum, PRP or whichever is being used.

What aftercare is required?

Avoid any active/stimulating skin preparations for a couple of days (i.e. AHA’s, retinol (vitamin A) or anything acidic).

A high factor mineral-based sun protection is also recommended to protect tender skin.

How long before I see results?

You will notice a fresher skin within 6 weeks. However your skin will continue to improve over 6-12mths.

How often can I have the Dermstamp treatments:

  • For anti-ageing treatments (e.g. collagen, skin rejuvenation) Dermastamp recommend 4-6 treatments which are spaced 4 weeks apart
  • For scars or acne scars, Dermastamp suggest 6 or more treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart
