Thread lifting has become a popular way of rejuvenating facial features. It bridges the gap where injectable treatments can’t go far enough, because as well as smoothing out lines and wrinkles, the thread lift can also improve loose/saggy skin, redefining those facial contours for a more youthful appearance. Yet it is nowhere near as invasive as surgery, making it a more convenient alternatives as well as more cost-effective.
A thread lift involves inserting threads into the soft tissues, beneath the surface of the skin. These are then tightened, which lifts the skin and improves the facial contours. As a result of the procedure, the body boosts production of collagen and elastin which restores some of the lost volume, thereby enhancing the overall result in reducing the effects of ageing.
As well as facial rejuvenation, APTOS threads are particularly effective in a non-surgical neck lift. They are also suitable for use on other areas of the body e.g. hands, knees.
APTOS threads were first developed back in the 80s and received their first patent in 1996. Manufacture in Europe with CE mark began in 2001 with FDA approval following in 2003. A thread lift appointment takes around an hour to complete, including consultation and preparation. It takes 20-30 minutes to insert the threads.
