Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides (full name polvdeoxyribonucleotides), are long chains of nucleotides that make up DNA and RNA molecules. They are derived from fragments of fish DNA (which resemble human DNA), which means they have the ability to function as a biostimulator, kickstarting regeneration in the skin.

Not only are they anti-inflammatory, thanks to their antioxidant properties, but they also increase collagen production, resulting in thicker, healthier epidermis.

Polynucleotides are a newly emerging trend in anti-ageing injections that stimulate tissue repair and encourage restoration and regeneration of the skin from within. They can be used in a wide range of applications as a rejuvenating treatment for older skin and as a preventative treatment for younger skin.

In contrast to traditional injectables which focus on treatment symptoms, polynucleotides focus on tackling the concern at its source to reverse the ageing of tissue.

ln addition to their success rate with a wide variety of indications, polynucleotides also work well alongside other treatments, enhancing their effects, such as by boosting the longevity of anti-wrinkle injections.

Benefits of polvnucleotides

  • Skin regeneration
Stimulate cell growth and proliferation, enhancing collagen and elastin production, which are necessary for skin elasticity, firmness, and lift. Promote cell turnover, improve elasticity and hydration
  • Wrinkle reduction
Aid in reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin texture and smoothness
  • Hydration
Exceptional hydrating properties and improve the skin’s ability to retain water, promoting healthier, smoother and more supple skin
  • Anti-inflammatory effect
Can soothe and calm skin, reducing redness, irritation and inflammation
  • Versatility
Effective in treating face, neck, décolletage and body
  • Safety and tolerance
Excellent safety record and well tolerated
  • Quick and lasting results
Results as early as 20 days post-treatment with good longevity

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatment for polynucleotides involves a series of injections under the skin. The specific techniques and protocol may vary depending on the individual’s skin type, treatment goals and the specific product being used.

We usually recommend 3-4 sessions for best results. These are spaced over 21-28 days.

Results build up over the following weeks. You can expect to see results from as early as 3 weeks following treatment.

Polynucleotides have an excellent safety record and any side effects are generally mild and temporary. These may include localised redness or bruising in the area injected

Polynucleotides stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. They have both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Polynucleotides can be used in a wide variety of areas:

  • Face – including eyes, mouth, cheeks, forehead, frown
  • Jowls/jawline
  • Neck/décolletage/chest
  • Upper arms, elbows, hands
  • Knees

This is an extraordinarily versatile treatment which can be of benefit to most people. However, we offer a number of treatment options at Clinicbe.
