harpers bazaar

Harper’s Bazaar’s feature about what big beauty trends to expect for 2019 included expert advice from Dr Barbara Kubicka on the trend which sees more diversity and inclusion conversations.

The feature acknowledges that the last couple of years has already seen greater diversity. Mainstream cosmetic brands have not always catered well across ethnicity/gender/age-inclusive marketing and products but that is improving.

However, niche brands and specialist products are also now providing much more choice for diversity of skin tones.

Dr Barbara Kubicka told Harper’s that:

“2019 is set to see the launch of new skincare ranges that have been specifically formulated to treat and address the needs of skin of colour”

13 Top Trends

The full list of trends was:

  1. Sustainability and thoughtful packaging
  2. Streamlined/minimised beauty regimes
